Assignment 4

DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE:

The weekly synchronous web-based learning environment as well as any asynchronous engagement will provide us with opportunities to professionally interact with our colleagues. The interaction within our web-based learning community is critical to individual learning and to the collective learning of the group as we work towards meeting the course learning outcomes. This assessment by you (and the instructor) enables you to reflect on the quality of your contribution during class and your overall engagement in the course.

Within each class, you will be required to contribute to the collective learning in several ways including completing weekly tasks and/or readings in a timely fashion so that you can make meaningful and relevant contributions to small and large class collegial discussions by sharing your ideas/opinions supported by the readings and other course materials. Engaging with others features prominently in this course and we are expected to demonstrate a full repertoire of professional attributes—interacting respectfully with all colleagues, supporting a positive virtual classroom environment, accepting and using constructive feedback in a positive manner (e.g., responds to peer and instructor suggestions for improvement with appropriate responses, gives appropriate feedback to peers etc.). In addition, it is expected that students will demonstrate web-based course etiquette (i.e., limit distractions during synchronous class; avoid multi-tasking while participating in the synchronous part of the course; be open to working with a wide range of students within the class; promptly communicate and concerns or challenges that may arise regarding attending class or completing assignments; and meet the technical requirements).
